In a Fieldlines thread Adriaan Kragten brought up an important but somehow 'lost' report on airfoils/aerofoils by André Hageman in July 1980 at the Wind Energy Group of the University of Technology Eindhoven.

I want to draw your attention to an important report written by André Hageman in July 1980 at the Wind Energy Group of the University of Technology Eindhoven, where I was also working at that time. The title of this report is: "Catalogue of Aerodynamic Characteristics of Airfoils in the Reynolds number range 10^4 - 10^6", report number R-443-D.

This is a rather large and heavy report which contains aerodynamic characteristics of hundreds of airfoils which might be of interest for someone who wants to design a wind turbine. I have an original copy of this report which I use often. Someone has scanned it and once it was available on the Internet but at this moment I can no longer find it. Fortunately I have made a copy of the pdf-file. ...

I asked if he believed that copyright would permit hosting by a third party, and he replied:

This report was written in the Wind Energy Group of the UT-Eindhoven which was financed by the Ministry of Developing Countries. The goal of all our work was to make knowledge about wind energy and water pumping available for developing countries. I am sure that nobody will make problems if the report is made public on the Internet. ...

There is another important report from that time which may interest people on this forum and that is: "Introduction to Wind Energy" by E. H. Lysen, May 1983, report number CWD 82-1. This report can be found on the Internet if you type the title and the report number in Google. It is made public by the Dutch engineering office Arrakis and the engineer of this office also worked at the Wind Energy Group.
